An initial remote Diving Operation Auditing & Assurance Awareness course was run in early April as an alternative to the classroom-based that was cancelled due to the lockdown restrictions. The course was attended by several technical and operational individuals wishing to gain an understanding of the process and regional legislation behind auditing and assurance for diving operations.
Auditing and assurance play a crucial part in ensuring the safety and integrity of any diving operation, with the emphasis on diver safety. Therefore, it is essential that diving contractors are audited technically and operationally by a competent auditor, periodically or prior to the commencement of a diving project.
The course is made up of 12 modules and includes an exam, which was presented live via a cloud-based video platform, which has received positive feedback resulting a second course being hosted and the first remote Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) awareness course.
Business Development Manager, Lee Duncan added “the first course’s attendees were mainly based in Europe as they had been looking to attend the course in Aberdeen. With the second batch of courses, we saw an increase of attendees from further overseas, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia & Canada.”
“It was really positivity to see such an appetite for individuals to continue learning during these difficult times and as a result, we have scheduled an additional 12 course over the next 3 months which includes additional courses.”
